Winsday - Great Thrills for the Greater Good

A Community Foundation of Louisville & Churchill Downs Racetrack Partnership

Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Winsday, a new Derby Week event, emerges as a beacon of community spirit and philanthropy. This is more than just a race day—it’s a celebration of the pivotal role nonprofits play in our community.

An exciting partnership, Winsday is a day devoted to uplifting local nonprofit organizations and spotlighting the crucial work they perform in our community. By purchasing tickets through a participating nonprofit, guests will enjoy a day at the races during Derby week and contribute directly to local causes. A portion of each ticket sale will support an organization’s impactful work, providing a unique opportunity for visibility and fundraising.

By purchasing box seat tickets in one of the sections below, $5 will be donated to the nonprofit associated with your ticket purchase:

    • 100-level box seating, sections 111-115: $32/ticket
    • 300 level box seating, sections 312-325: $39/ticket
    • Reserved boxes are communal seating with other guests unless purchased in full (all seats).

Winsday Prizes

Participating nonprofits will have the chance to engage in additional fundraising beyond ticket sales and earn special cash prizes during Winsday. Special thanks to Churchill Downs for providing this year's prizes.

Charity Post Draw

Just like the Derby Post Draw, but with a twist—your nonprofit earns money! Churchill Downs will randomly select 20 nonprofits from the 50 registered organizations to be paired with one of the 20 Derby horses.

  • First Place: $20,000
  • Second Place: $15,000
  • Third Place: $10,000
  • 4th-20th Place: $2,500

Second Chance Drawings

Another opportunity for participating nonprofits to secure additional funds! Organizations not selected for the Charity Post Draw will have the chance to be randomly chosen for extra financial support.

  • 4 Second Chance Drawings of $2,000

Supporter Drawings

Organizations that didn’t win a Charity Post Draw or Second Chance Drawings will be eligible for a Supporter Drawing.

For every ticket purchased through a participating nonprofit’s ticketing link, Churchill Downs will randomly select guests to win an opportunity to direct an additional $2,000 donation to the nonprofit associated with their ticket purchase. This is yet another fantastic way to increase financial support for your favorite local organizations!

  • 3 Supporter Drawings of $2,000
