Harrison Kirby

Harrison Kirby joined the Community Foundation as Director of Strategic Initiatives in April 2023. Harrison enjoys solving problems with all of the tools in his toolbox, including data analysis, storytelling, graphic design, community organizing, and relationship-building. Harrison previously worked as the staff lead at the Greater Louisville Project, a civic initiative that created data and research to catalyze a collaborative civic agenda. Harrison researched education, jobs, health, and quality of place as the organization’s data scientist. Additionally, he implemented key partnerships to better represent community interest, including consultation with over 200 community members to create the Safer City by Design report highlighting the upcoming municipal funding cliff for key services supporting our city’s youth.

Harrison graduated as valedictorian from Centre College in 2017 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies, Economics, and Finance. While he was highly involved on campus, he is most proud to have helped organize community support for a family who resettled from Syria to Danville as refugees. Prior to attending college, Harrison was the membership coordinator for the Jefferson County chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and an active advocate in Louisville, Frankfort, and Washington, D.C., for a transition to a more just and sustainable economy. In his free time, Harrison enjoys running, baking cookies, and compiling a weekly newsletter to bring his friends together.
